TerniEnergia, a company operating in the renewable energy sector, listed on MTA market of Borsa Italiana, announces the start of works for the construction of 10 photovoltaic plants in Umbria, Marche, Sicily and Apulia regions for a total capacity of approximately 10 MWp.

Approximately 4.5 MWp are for joint-venture companies, while the remaining 5MWp are to be set up on account of third parties, of which 3,5 MWp are without solar panels supply. The completion of construction works is expected to take place within March 2010.

The total number of plants built by TerniEnergia at December 31st, 2009 is 128, for an aggregate capacity of about 40 MWp, of which 20 MWp have been performed for the benefit of joint venture companies incorporated with EDF EN.

In respect of the foregoing, Mr. Stefano Neri, Chairman and Managing Director of the company states that: “The start of 2010 is characterized by a significant increase of our business represented by the expected achievement of 10 MWp of installed capacity by the end of March. Such a material fastening in respect of the first quarter of the year 2009, during which the installed capacity was 2 MWp, allows us to be confident in the achievement in advance of 2010 targets”.
